1. What amber bulbs do people use with their clear lenses and where do you get them?? I have searched and seems a little more difficult than I thought to find correctly rated.

I have a S2 so need the front turn signal bulbs amber and the sidemarker/turn signal bulbs.

2. Are there any issues with running LEDs? And what type/ratings have you used?

Need : - 7528 in 12VP21/5W config with dual connection (found filament chrome amber for that matches, but LED seem to have different ratings?)

- 5008 R10W I believe (only found in LED)

When I got my clears the fronts came with a 12V21W amber bulb that only had a single connector and while it would work with headlights off, it would not work when I turned them on (they would light up, but not flash, emergency flasher did not flash either). So I really want to get the right bulbs and not have any problems!


BTW the lenses look great from protocast in UK and were around $116 total for both pairs (fronts and sides), got them a few days after I ordered too!

I found my front dual filament bulbs in amber at Paragon. At around $2.50 each, I bought a couple of spares too. They also sell a clear bulb that blinks amber. The idea is that you don't see it at all through the clear lenses when it isn't blinking. Nice idea, but at $20+ per bulb, I passed. The amber ones are fine to my eye.

Superbrightleds.com -- Quality products and quality service. I replaced ALL external lights with their LED bulbs and got fantastic results. For the front turn signals/parking lights to work, you also need their electronic flasher unit/relay. If you were to only replace the rear turn signals, you do not need the electronic relay.

I bought clear bulbs from Auto barn via Amazon for $5.99 each. They're chromed and not visible when installed, but blink amber. Work great on my 1986 944, I also have clear lenses.

New issue for me though...I put in the old bulbs, where were working great, but now the side markers do not flash!?

What shoud I check for? All the lights will light up but and if I put flashers on only the very front and very back signal lights flash , the sides (front and rears) do not flash.

Any suggestions?

I offer complete LED kits for clear turn signals and side markers.

In order to make the turn signals flash properly, you have to replace the relay as well.

The side markers never flash - no matter what type of bulb you install.
