Someone just start the order going and let it go from there. Does it have to be turbo though? Can you turbo guys punch a whole in the face when it comes? I didn't see the price of these anyway...

im not interested in indiglo gauges but im considering getting my speedo up to 200 (for no other reason then it looks cool heheh), cal'ing the boost gauge to actual 1 bar (or if we could all agree on a max boost level have them silk screen in numerals), readjusting the red line to match the mod'ed redline of my soon to be motor (my winter project post will be coming soon, ill need lots of input). i havent done a lot of research into this yet because im extremely busy at work and this particular mod i was considering doing after the car was fast heheheh. i have found a place that sounds like a specialist in this area: north hollywood speedometer (www.nhspeedometer.com) i saw them in an add in panorama and it sounds like a quality shop: 180 to 220 mph conversions; 10k+ tach conversions; convert bars in temp gauge to degrees; custom colors+logos; etc; and best of all theyre silk screens...not decals (frequently seen on rice racers w/ pep boys alum pedals and a giant wing on a fwd car....you know those guys). im not sure if they can recal the boost gauge yet, ill call them tommorow if i get a chance. im pretty sure it comes off the dme so that may need a resistor swap or two to adjust the gain of an op amp or something??? ill leave that one in dannos lap, but maybe there is something they can do on the gauge end. anyway thats my two cents if we can all get together on this im pretty sure we could lower the price a good bit (silk screenin 100 is just as easy as silk screening 1 but the price of the custom screen is cut up 100 times). ill create a post where people can put in the suggestions they want for the guages once i find out what all the options this place has (thumbin thru the panorama i found another place: palo alto speedometer (www.paspeedo.com) heheheh i smell a price war..maybe). disclaimer: i have no affiliation w/ either of these two places im just trying to save a couple of bucks if i(we) can.

ps: since (if a group purchase would go down) we would all have our gauge clusters apart we could probably get a group purchase on all new correct bulbs and foil backed reflective thingies heeehe

" im considering getting my speedo up to 200 (for no other reason then it looks cool heheh),"

Yeah, I've thought about that too. But I'm really planning on having a car with the prerequisite 420bhp needed to break the 200mph barrier (gearing adjustment needed as well). I wonder if the FIA has any salt-flats records for 'fastest stock 4-cylinder' or some such thing, eh?

"im pretty sure it comes off the dme so that may need a resistor swap or two to adjust the gain of an op amp or something???"

It's a simple matter to re-calibrate your speedo for a difference scale on the gauge faces. Just need a simple electronic black-box to re-time the pulses coming from the tranny sensor: Electronic Ratio Adapter.

I was thinking of just scanning in my gauge faces and printing up some new ones. I really like the fonts used on Boxster gauges and it's simple enough to change the 20mph tick marks with 25mph jumps instead. That might get a little crowded on an 180mph speedo, so I would use a 160mph speedo and make it go to 200mph instead.

I also like my gauges a litle more low-key as well:

I guess I'm in for the turbo gauges. Worst case scenario if they look like crap is I yank 'em and ebay 'em.

I really want these gauges, I'm assuming the hold of the economy gauge in an NA lines up with the hole for the boost gauge in a 951? I might be willing to have the economy gauge rather than my boost gauge. Has anyone started a group for the 944 turbo gauges? It seems like we could come up with 20 of us for sure.

Would like to have 951 180mph/300kmh reverse indigo "black face" gauges with new style Porsche numbering, like Boxter has

Does it seem right that the fuel and battery gauges are on the opposite side? Did they mess up this picture somehow?

Yeah it looks like they photoshoped' it together you can see rough edges and the like. I told the people at speedhut.com that I would like to start a group for the 944 turbo people, all they need is a donor gauge cluster and I don't have one and can't find one on ebay. With that said I might suffer and live with a fuel gauge where my turbo gauge is now. If someone on here has a donor cluster for a 951 that would be nice, speedhut told me that the person who donates the cluster gets his/her indiglo gauges free. It doesn't need to be a working cluster.
