Apcar Porsche of Raubsville, PA
It's just about time to get my timing belt checked, and thought I could do it myself, I'd feel alot safer if the hella expensive tool was used on it.
Has anyone had any exprience or heard anything about Apcar porsche of Raubsville?
It's a small independent shop right off of rt 611 and I'm not sure what to think of the place. When I pulled in to take a look, there was a beater 928 with the hood open, a beat up 944 and a nice 911 up on blocks sitting outside. Parts were on the floor on the inside along with the nicer cars (well.. at least other cars, at least 2 911's and a 944).
I would assume this guy really knows his stuff, he's got a 914 racecar in the garage (full blown racecar.. you can hardly tell its a 914 anymore).
So, anyone have any exprience?

After doing some more research, it looks that the place is run by Fred Apgar, a guy pretty well known with the PCA and a racer from the 80's. He built the engine in that 914 racecar he's got, but I don't know if he ran any races with it.
It's kind of crazy to have a guy like that literally right down the road from me. (In fact, his shop is where my first porsche memories start.. looking out the window of my elementary school bus, drooling over the cars ;-) )
