Script style door handle w/o lettering?

Script handles came to 1986 951. 951's made during 1985 mostly did not have them. Between 1986-1988 all 951 hade them, but in 1989 both styles were used and mot 1990-1991 models had non-script handles.

FWIW, my 89 had smooth, 86 script.

Still it's confusing that the "smooth" handles very rarely are for sale used. If there was a 4 year stretch where they were produced, why are they never available? I've never seen any in the two years of ownership...It's why I thought they were possibly VW or Audi. Oh well, scripts are always being sold for around $150+
I'm going to have to find someone to anodize mine. I'd pay a big # for a set of new-condition script handles (just a hint for anyone holding back).
