Yes, I'm sure it's an original Euro. The VIN checks out, it has Euro front fenders and the rear sidemarkers are surface mounted, not flush mounted as on US spec cars. It also has the Euro DITC setup, along with a G31 (snailshell) transmission, which was not available in the US after 1980. So it is definitely the real deal. I checked all that out before I committed to buy the car

Forgive me, I'm not familiar with the 924 differences! I just noticed the silver bumpers and was like "WTF...poor conversion!"

No problem, I had *exactly* the same thought when I first started digging into it. I still can't figure out why the bumpers are a different color than the rest of the car. It doesn't seem likely that it would have come that way from the factory, but it also seems just as unlikely, if the car were crashed that the owner would have gone to the trouble of sourcing replacement Euro bumpers. Definitely some mysteries on this one. Like the massive hole in the upper charge tube. And the custom strut brace.

Any pics of the engine bay? Did ANY 931 come with an intercooler or was that just the CGT?

Ask and ye shall receive:

See the strut brace mount on the RHS shock tower? Completely missed that when I was scouring the pix earlier...the strut brace was in the hatch area...first one I've ever seen that works on a 931. Definitely a candidate for duplication...

As for intercooled 931's, the only factory intercooled versions were the GTx variants.

Right now, I think I'm going to keep it. My current thinking is to restore the mechanicals back to OEM Euro specs, and during the cosmetic restoration, maybe go in a club-sport type direction (manual mirror, rear seat delete, remove sound deadening, etc.). It came without AC from the factory and already has the manual window regulators and door cards. I may tune the suspension a little (still haven't even checked to see if it has a proper M471 setup), and then use it as a club sport DE car.
