Post Coolant hose burst... need advice

let me start off with the background:

Fans have not been coming on, I have the new thermo switch but have been searching for a 29mm to get to it. In the mean time it is a pain in the butt I have it rigged up with a roach clip to the metal on the fuse cover to turn on when I hook it up (negative ground). No big deal... to be precautious I replaced the thermostat (done). Since I have the Huntley Allum. expansion tank it is hard for me to see the level. When I replaced the fluid that I lost when I replaced the thermostat I think I overfilled it (well I did) Yesterday when driving the car I got on it a little something happened when we came to a stop I could hear something. The belts were slipping. Pulled over and popped the hood green fluid everywhere. (temp was not hot on the gauge) So turned around drove home. washed her off... I went out to inspect this morning, I thought it was the expansion tank loosing the excess fluid. I squeezed the large hose in the Waterpump and found that fluid was coming out the smaller hose... flipped it and found a nice burst. I will say there is white smoke coming out of the car during warm up... I think this is from running rich needs to be tuned, but I will wait for my new chip. Oil, well looks glassy like oil. That tells me the HG is ok (crossing fingers). Oh and the larger hose into the water pump does get hot.) When I got the car home yesterday and shut the car down it did get hot when I started her back up. This was from lack of fluid I would imagine.

So here is my question what would cause this to burst? The overfilling coolant?

Ok I took it off for closer inspection it looks like it took a wak from the fan! no burst... I contribute it to the hard braking of the Big reds!!! ha ha

New question is this a hose that is only sold by the dealership or is this a common hose/ can I build one? If it is Porsche it looks to be expensive I would rather make one as I can get creative and keep it away from the SC pulley as it look like that was rubbed too...

Your car is dead, worthless. You might as well just give it to me, and I MIGHT be nice enough to drive it back from CA to NY, but only if you pitch in for gas. I just think I might be able to salvage the car and would like to give it the effort.

Don't know where to get that hose though, although I see no reason just a rubber hose of the same strength, inside diameter and length wouldn't work. If it is the fan that hit it (which it does look like) you may want to diagnose a way to keep that from happening.

Scootin- You almost had a deal this POS! So I cut the rubber back on the damaged hose and there was a plastic fitting... I cut it back far enough to get a good leangth of fitting so now I need to head over to Pepboys to pick up some hose...I will be ziptying the hose back.

doesn't the thermoswitch need a 30mm? mine was 30mm, I saw one at a local pepboys yesterday labeled as an "axle socket" or something, but it wasn't with the other sockets so you'll need to look harder for it.

I had that happen like 3 times last year, one time on the night of Hershey (last april). There's not a lot of clearance between there eh?

Sandoval,

No, no, don't give the car to Scootin'! I'm right around the corner from you, and I am sure that I could take it off your hands, don't worry!
