Talking Pics of my new 951

Here are some pics of my new '88 951 i bought a month ago and my friend who just bought an '86 951 a couple weeks ago. And my other friend with a '91 ZX. Mine is the one with the 911 rims on it. What do you guys think of the red calipers and colored centercaps and the red "porsche" embroidery on the floor mats?

EDIT:

Here is a picture of my rim with the colored centercap and painted caliper. Its kinda blurry though, ill try to take another one this weekend.

We had 2 pictures left in the roll so we decided to do something different. So we climbed on top of my friends step ladder in the middle of the street and took these....

you may want to edit the post, it is just returning a whole bunch of errors right now.

Edit: Well they show up now, and it is a nice looking 951. Black on black is a great color combo (humm, wonder why I say that)....

Anyway do you have a close up of the calipers, I do like red calipers, it is just hard to get them done right on your own. I resprayed mine to black yesterday (well two spares anyway), I would have gone to some other color but i could not figure out how to paint inside the letters. How did you get around this?

Very Nice cars ... I like the 3-some shot you took , but shouldn't the Z be in tha back?

The 944s look better than the Z ... it's too plain.

Wheels ... I prefer the phone's ... it just seems to match better with the car IMHO.

I like the red porsche embroidery on the mat .. mine has 'turbo' in red. The red piping around the sides though I'm not crazy about. Too distracting from the center of the mat.

Red Caliipers look sharp too! ... really stand out on the black car! I was going to do the same, but on my red car, I figured it was overkill

Enjoy the ride .... <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" /> But remember ... Black cars look better in the shade <img src="graemlins/jumper.gif" border="0" alt="[jumper]" />

The 'color of your color' is very nice. I like the way the shine really comes through in the pictures.

Thanks for the compliments guys.

Ian: I do have a closeup of the wheels but havent gotten it scanned yet. I will edit this post once I do. I painted them using High temp enamel paint. I taped over the "porsche" and sprayed it. Once it dried I peeled off the tape and took a small paint brush and some "testors model paint" and filled in the areas inside the letters. This wasnt perfect and I DID get paint on the "Porsche" so i just took my engraving machine (same as a dremel tool i guess) and used a flat tip and just smoothed it out until the paint came off and the silver came thru. It works pretty well.

The floormats were done because I had excess paint left over from the calipers. I just had my little brother use the "testors model paint" and fill in the embroidery and then i taped off the entire floor mat except for the borders and spray painted those. I know that i probably should have used embroidery paint or cloth dye paint or something more suitable on that material, but i was just like what the heck lets see how it turns out.

Aesthetically, shes beautiful, and mechanically, shes amazing. It has huntley chips and a manual boost controller on it, and boy does it like to GOO!

I'm gonna have to build my 3.1L NA monster and teach some of you newbie turbo guys a lesson.
Maybe then you will see that it is hopeless to resist the dark side.

Hey, looks great, Sajid . . . mind if I link this across to the e-mail list? ;-)

Glad you have her - she has a good home! Certainly much cleaner than I ever kept her.

Compared to the pics I have of her in the snowpiles, it's like night and day! ;-0
