Post Fuel Damper Leaking !!

Well, I just finished my camhousing gasket replacement, checked for fuel and oil leaks and discovered a fuel damper dripping gas. Called Paragon to get another one. I already have the stainless steel fuel lines to the damper and FPR. I was wondering if anyone has any experience changing out the damper and also the fuel line from the damper to the rail (with another stainless line) I already know how to disconnect the fuel rail to work on it at the bench. Thanks for your tips.

How much was the fuel damper? Just curious since I am about to replace my FPR and think I might do them both to be safe.

I think Chuck at Paragon said $42. I did not shop around on this item, but I like Paragon, and they are very competitive, and helpful.

David,

I had a similar problem with my fuel damp but I have yet to replace it. I also have SFR ss Fuel lines and found that I too had a small leak. you could smell the fuel on the bampner. in any case I found by tightning the clamp holding on the fuel line the leak whent away. I am looking into better clamps at the moment in order to prevent this sort of thing from happining when I least expect it. THE SFR lines are awesome but the clamps used to connect them are standard clamps and need to be upgraded IMHO. This is not a complaint just an observation.

I had a helluva time getting the big nut off that holds the damper on. I had to use an impact gun b/c I was applying so much force that I could see the fuel rail flexing.

I just did the fuel dampner yesterday afternoon...I found it to be easiest to do by removing the dampner along with the line that attaches to the fuel rail...

The hardest part was lining up that line with the place on the fuel rail it needs to go...because part of it is a hard metal line...I must've put the dampner back in place and taken it out 4 times before I got it right...but maybe I'm just retarded.

I didn't have any problems cracking the connections or any nuts loose...just to be safe I put an adjustable wrench on the fuel rail and tried to apply a somewhat equal and opposite force to prevent messing stuff up.

I paid $41 from <a href="http://www.gprparts.com" target="_blank">http://www.gprparts.com</a>
First time I've used them, ordered it 2nd day air...overall good experience...I really like how easy it is to navigate/find stuff on their website.
