Matt,

believe me I have thought about that vent, I think it look great and would work, but there is a problem. Actually two of them.

1) No one makes that paticular piece, I looked around and not even GT-racing has it.

2) Even if we wanted to there is a structural part of the hood right there, and I don't really want to cut it. I have not seen the fiberglass or CF hood from the underside to see if they are braced in the same area, if not that gives us more to work with. But this first run is going to be made with the stock hood.

Ian,

If you want to move the structural support, we could weld in a new one.

This is true, i hadn't thought about moving the support.

If we can come up with a way to do it I would be happy to try. One vent in the middle seems like a better set up in my mind....

Have you considered 4 smaller NACA ducts?
(I still wonder if they disturb the air envelope when mounted backwards...)

I really like that 968 vent. I think that would do exactly what you are trying to do. I need to go and look at my car to see what really is in the way. Someone post a pic of the intercooler so that we can discuss it here.

The pink stick that is funny. <img src="graemlins/yltype.gif" border="0" alt="[typing]" />

You could at least use the part on the inside, maybe, somehow to vent the air up and out your NACA ducts? I know the intercooler isn't readily accessible, but maybe you could make something out of fiberglass. You could probably sell it too!

Well if I have to some how reconfigure the hood support and cut off the hood latch on the car and hood to get this done then thats what we will have to try. I'm sure there is another way, but I don't mind running hood pins.

I think we need a charlotte beer / hood venting idea night to get some ideas on paper so we don't have to have 6000 posts to come to a conclusion.

I think we should keep it in Charlotte 4 of us will be right here anyway.

I hope we can get an event together to have all the NC guys meet up, the last attempt was not what I would call good...
