Default P car noob, just bought a 944 Turbo..

Hey guys. Just bought a '86 944 Turbo. I think the previous owner is here on Rennlist as there was a Rennlist sticker in the window haha.

1986 Porsche 944 Turbo
Guards Red exterior
Black Leather interior
139xxx miles (15,000 on newly rebuilt motor)
Lindsey Racing 3" Exhaust (Downpipe back) (New within 6 months)
Lindsey Racing Dual Port Wastegate (blue top) (New within 6 months)
3.0 Bar Fuel Pressure Regulator
Zeitronix Zr-1 with display (A/F ratio, Boost, RPMS, Exhaust Temps)
Max951 Chips currently installed (KLR, DME)
Guru Racing Chips and Stock chips included as well.
20K in receipts
New Rear tires as of last March

Its going to need a new turbo soon, i was reading up on this but I'm new with Porsches, I've had many many BMWs including 3 M3s but this is my first P car.

K27 is the upgrade from stock correct? I was also told I could get a garrett 60-1 and itll flow better than the k27 and is similar priced? How much power can I make with my setup? I plan on going catless downpipe, upgraded turbo, and the retuning the car for a quick weekend car. Thanks in advance guys!

the turbos going for sure, and i thought i'd just upgrade while i'm down there, how much boost can these motors take in its current state? my goal is atleast 400rwhp, is this feasible on stock internals? maybe a thicker hg? also, what are the main 944t performance sites? i am looking online and can only find so many.. thanks!

Bud
welcome!
Check the 944 turbo board lots more info for the 951 there.
Do allot of reading before you commit to the turbo upgrade.
Check Vitesse for a complete package.

Thumbs up

Welcome aboard & congrats on your purchase , I,m not an expert on the 951 ,but think that your goal of 400rwhp is a little higth & there is lot of things you will have to attend to before doing so ,after all this little lady is not getting any younger.

400whp is definitely doable on a stock internals (so long as it's in good shape). You will need supporting mods obviously.
