Default Reading engine fault codes

I have read that there is a way to get engine fault codes from the 1991 S2.

Something about holding down the accelerator while turning the key to 'On' but i can't find the exact procedure...

On a 968, you turn on the key, hold the gas peddle down for 3 seconds and release SLOWLY. If there are fault codes, the "check Engine" light will start to blink a combination of short and long blinks. 968 Forums has a list of the codes. I would thinkl they would be the same.
