I now have a .dxf file perfected for the firewall reinforcement plate. The 11 GA. Stainless Steel plate will be universal in application, whether it is installed on a stock 944, used with the Wilwood 260-7563 master cylinder, stock 944 clutch master cylinder, or even the Wilwood 260-10374 7/8" clutch master cylinder upgrade (the Wilwood MC upgrades are V8 Conversion specific).
All years have been considered, and the firewall plate may be bolted OR welded on, depending on the condition of the factory firewall. Bolt-on applications will require mounting hole locating and drilling, as the plates do not come pre-drilled. I will, however, supply a template for the bolt-on applications. If your firewall is already cracked, I would strongly recommend welding.
PM me for details.

Final test-fit...
The early (pre-'86) version has also been finalized.
(NOTE: For illustration purposes only - plate shown is not bolted or otherwise permanently attached.
Shown "temped-in-place" on an '87 N/A parts car. Clutch MC studs removed to allow fitting tight to
inner fender, and in-tact stud placement has been verified on an unmolested '86 Turbo...)

I would be cautious about using aluminum since it will induce galvanic corrosion - stainless or steel would be a lot better from that perspective - aluminum is lighter but unless you are racing and a pound matters, the dissimilar metals problem probably mitigates against AL.

So Kyle (only944) figured out that a shim is needing so you don't bind MC plunger. Keep that in mind. He also says the plate I have wouldn't work without modification. I suppose you could buy his and be done....but you are pretty good with metal.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll have to shoot him a message and see exactly how to shim it. I wonder if a hole could be drilled in the clutch pedal to position it better, then adjust the clevis accordingly.
