Bought mine fire-sale from Crutchfield about 3 years ago. Only other place I've seen them since is eBay. If anyone with a Toronto is interested in the "Thummer" steering-wheel-mounted controller for the unit, please ping me off line.

The Toronto is cool, adjusts display/lighting color to match from green to red (including that distinguished 944 orange). In my opinion, they are the perfect replacement for 944 cassette radios.

Yeah, the BMW also has orange interior lights...the Toronto would match. Plus, the radio looks like it belongs in the dash, unlike most newer flashy multi-color units.

I guess ebay will have to be the way to go. The one on there now has a defecto display...patience, I guess!

Never saw the need for a thumber control when the radio is 6 inches in front of the driver in the 944!?

Yeah Simon, I'm out (for now)! Sold it 2 weeks ago to someone from CT! Fairfield maybe? Anyway, it's gone, and the blue BMW is now my new hobby.
I wasn't using my 944, even on weekends, because the baby seat didnt fit, and I couldnt take the wife with me. The BMW has a larger back seat, being less a rad sports machine and all. Enjoy your 944 while you can! At least you're young, and wont have to worry about a baby for a while!

This is what it looks like. Works on IR. In a 944 it doesn't save much of a reach, but in a minivan, it would be the hot set-up. Controls the key items pretty conveniently. Ping me off line if interested. The whole kit from Crutchfield is sitting on my shelf.
