Quater panel labor time!
Well, I got an 88' 944 N/A 5 weeks ago, and some a** had to hit it! So I took it to my insurance rep. to get a est. and they said it's totaled!! I was like
************************************************************************ ****************************!
He said the major part in the body est is the quater panel, labor time is 30 hours! The worst part is that he stoled the car from a friend, and he hit 5 other cars in the block, but mine is the only one that cost $7k to fix.

ummm... find another body shop because I had my quarter panel replaced and repainted for $2,300. This included taking the hatch off, quarter window out, mirror off, etc for a nice paint match.
is anything hurt besides the quarter panel?

Charlee,
The main reason it is totaled is because it costs to much to fix it to their standards. It's not because it can't be fixed properly. If you talk to them and tell them that you would like to keep the title clean and to arrange to fix it yourself, they might work with you. Ask them if you can get a quote and use 'used' parts to make the repair.
The quarter pannel shouldn't cost much. Then get your friends to give you a quote for labor that stays well below the value of the car. I even have a pair of quarter pannels, but I'm in Calif... You can find them on your coast for less than the shipping charges.
