i know the head gaskets are the same for the n/a and turbo, so the cylinders are the same diameter. in that respect, the blocks are the same but i dunno man. the turbo has lower compression, which is either shorter pistons, different crank (with a shorter stroke), or both. the n/a runs 9.7:1 and the turbo runs 8.0:1, and thats kind of a big difference, so probably different crank. just my 2 cents there..
dude i ordered that yellow turbo rear valance for 125, shipping included. it looks like the same shade of yellow, and i really really hope it is.. that would be just like the sweetest thing ever.
i'm going camping in arkansas this week til thursday or so so i'll holler at you when i get back.
peace man

cass... mebe yu shuld post the question in the 951 side... git more answers.
i've heard/seen/been told that it is possible to use a NA block to build a 951 engine.. just have to get all the pieces together, which can be expensive. you could also look at the numbers and figure it out (factory manuals). wouldn't be too hard.

Yes you can. The block and cranks are the same. Only thing you'll have to do is drill & tap the hole in the upper balance-shaft housing for the turbo oil-feed. Also early pre-'85.5 blocks have a different oil-pump.

yes, it works..same size holes. Try to use a later NA block, there are few things that are more compatable. Most oil pans have the oil drain line, except the early ones for the turbo setup. YOu also want a later block that will accxept your turbo block head temp sensor, the early blocks have smaller fitting for these. And, as Danno said, tap the balance shaft cover.
Go for it.
