John, this is the 4th computer I'm trying it on in the last 12 hours. They were all at different locations, one running linux, one win2k, and two xp machines j(both home). I cannot access my e-mail account (or rennlist.com for that matter) from any of them. All were cable, except one at the university (that actually makes it 5 different computers, over 80 miles apart total).

Hey John, you got some specs for us? What kind of hardware and software is under the hood? What was it before? What else do these guys run? What kind of connection do you have?

Just curious about this kind of stuff...

Across the site, there are 12 "public" servers which run W2K, NT4 and various Linux distributions. On just this server??

It has dual Athlons @1.3GZ, 2GB DDR system memory, twin 80GB drives with two 100MB/s NICs - using Mandrake's Enterprise kernal, MySQL, PHP, PERL, Apache, etc. As well - this server also "hosts" two OmniCluster SlotServers (3000 and 1000 "Blades") that handle my internal routing, internal NAT network, DHCP, SMTP relay for my domains, Wireless access points, a CheckPoint firewall, etc. These OmniCluster "blades" use simple IDE drives, one powered by the host (power only - it doesn't use the PCI bus)) and the other is the "image system" for the second SlotServer.

These servers/systems go into my switched internal net - the backbone being a 1GB Gigabit Lan (CLAN) which the W2K servers communicate over (for the other web sites, SLDs, DNS servers, caches, etc.). - and then pass into the 100MBs switches and routers...

Is that what you were asking???

Thanks Pete..!!

Just as an FYI - I will probably take this circuit off-line for a bit this afternoon, and turn up the "volume" on the bandwidth. It should take no longer the 20-30 minutes max later today...

Thanks again for the feedback!!!
