Ouch!!! I knew that it could be polished, but that is ridiculous!!! I think I know what I will do with the intake that mike is giving me!
What happened to 951and944, can you ask him about how he polished it. Just some pointers and things, other than the whole "lots of patience" thing. I already have counted on that part.

Pretty sweet, huh?
He's been tied up doing my car. I'll definitly ask him step by step how he did it as I'm doing mine when he finishes painting it.
I don't want to copy cat his car but it's pretty hard when his car looks like it does. <img src="graemlins/yltype.gif" border="0" alt="[typing]" /> <img src="graemlins/jumper.gif" border="0" alt="[jumper]" /> <img src="graemlins/a_smil17.gif" border="0" alt="[blabla]" /> <img src="graemlins/roflmao.gif" border="0" alt="[hiha]" /> <img src="graemlins/burnout.gif" border="0" alt="[burnout]" />

You can send your header panel into John Anderon and he will cut one out for you.. you wont even have to repaint it. the edges will be smooth and all. whatever pattern you want

How does he avoid leaving exposed edges of bare metal. Does he prime the edge? or what? Louisiana weather would rust exposed metal in a heartbeat.

Thanks Shaun -thats what i'm talkin about!

Tho it may be a good idea to do something about the edges at some point, granted, I'd just like to get something that works (w/o repainting) for the mean time.
I like the 2 holes better than the 4 as far as looks go, but i wonder if it wouldnt be smart to make them a bit wider and more effective. Maybe i'll talk to John about that when i call tomorrow about the motor, especially if he can do whatever shape cutout. Very Cool.

How about one long opening that is more or less the same shape and size of the two openings directly below it near the license plate? Anyone who can photoshop that one? For structural reasons there may have to be numerous smaller openings, but have them match the height and width of the openings on the bumper.

That's what I'm thinking- it seems to me that it might blend in more nicely that way- it could be rounded in much the same way, same size (maybe not quite as wide even) and same (or even SLIGHTLY) narrower (height)...
Anyone good at photo-shop?

One long opening is what Lindsey's looks like although made of fibreglass (sp?). It's not flat like the factory. It raises up slightly on top to grab more air.
I prefer the four small (factory look) or the two long ones as shown on the SpeedForece Racing website. Hey Tim, if your reading this, do you do the four small openings (I'm sure you do) and can the 924 Turbo grills be inserted for a real factory look? The whole 924 Turbo conversion replacing everything seems a bit much if you can just remove, cut and replace existing.
Also Tim, it looks as though you roll the edges, but as posted above, is there any exposed metal when you're done?
TIA
Mike R.

Tim originally did not roll the edges, just popped the holes in with a spiral saw which is basically a little router. Better make sure what he is doing now if you want rolled edges.

actually, that single opening like those below in the bumper looks very good. A straight-on pic would give a much better idea. BTW, that little car sure looks like a model -is it real or what?
