Where exactly is Rutt's hut?

As long as its not too far south of the pallisades mall...sounds good to me!

i vote for somewhere on long island so i dont haveto drive in that insane traffic stop and go with a manual transmission... i think i would either get out and start screaming or just start going 90 on the sholder

but i think im out voted oh well.

Rutt's Hut is in Clifton, NJ, nestled in between Rts 3 and 21. Figure it's a couple miles away from Giants Stadium and you're just about there.

I keep hearing of Rutt's Hut, but have yet to try it. Sounds like a good location, now we need a date. Hey Damian, play hookey! Dan, how much traffic can there be on the Cross Bronx/GWB?

Dave, family obligations on the wife's side prevent me from going. Trust me, I'd rather be with you guys . . . The next weekend is booked, then Labor Day weekend at Lime Rock, then my family's reunion picnic the next weekend (autox that weekend as well?) and we're in the middle of September.

Since I'm moving back to the city soon - I think I'll meet up with you guys. So is it going to be in NJ or the mall?

The problem with the Palisades Mall on a Saturday is finding parking!

So is it on or off for Saturday, August 17?

Dan and other LI travelers, you can leave early to beat the LI bridges traffic (as you already know!). Get to the Whitestone or Throgs Neck bridge by 9:00 or 9:30 to do it. It could still be hit or miss. I lived in Massapequa Park and South Amityville for a combined 16 years and commuted to Westchester and lower Connecticut most weekends to see family. I'll buy you breakfast and then we'll head out to Joisey.

To Clifton, from my house we can go down the Henry Hudson Pkwy bypassing Cross Bronx and get directly on the GW Bridge. Then we'll just be stuck in NJ traffic! If we go to Palisades area, it's 15 minutes to the Tappan Zee bridge and 10 more to Palisades - scenic and fast roadways!

Is anyone interested in meeting up around White Plains? It may be more centrally located in deference to LI and CT guys? I can find a place to eat/drink with a good parking lot, maybe somewhere scenic for photo-ops like Hudson River overlooks. Post your desires.

Mike R.

OK, Sorry Dan and Simon....but majority rules.
The meetup will be at Rutt's hutt:
417 River Rd, Clifton, NJ 07014

8/17 is the date, 8/18 is the rain date.

Here is the roster as of now: http://members.rennlist.com/adrial/Porsche%20get%20together%208-17.doc

And here is the roster from the first meetup...if you wanted to go to that one...well why not go to this one??
http://members.rennlist.com/adrial/Porsche%20get%20together.doc

Tell your friends! I am hoping for at least 10 people to show...we have 16 on the roster, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Well done Adrial, somebody had to be decisive! Now that we have a place and date, you may as well pick the time.
Is it me, or are a few Rennlisters missing from the list? Tom R.? Zoltan? Clem? Bron951? EmilysGranny? Al P.?

OK Great!

For directions from the GW Bridge, I guess its take NJ Tpke South to Rt. 3 West. Is there an exit for River Road there? I tried a MapQuest map that sucks, not entirely clear.

Damien, Dave or Ken: can you fill in the rest of the directions of Rt.3?

TIA

IIRC it would be RT 3 east to 21N, make first exit, make left over highway and go south on River Road for a short distance.

Someone have a ripper for me! (Newbies, that a deep fried dog done to the point where the casing starts to crack!)

Unhappy

Fellas-

I'd be in, but I've got another engagement Saturday. Plus, the old girl is undergoing a bit of surgery at the moment. And I'm starting to suffer serious withdrawl. Not only has the weather been perfect, but I had to cancel my Lime Rock 2 registration as well.

Fried hot dogs? Sounds too good! Enjoy.

Clem
