Cam Tower Dress-up... on the cheap
I'm not all that big on engine dressing but this old hotrod idea worked pretty well...Whadayathink?

Sometimes you work real hard to get something just right and sometimes you just fall in to it. This one was easy. The only trick is using the "Dupli-Color" brand high heat spray paint, which is really thin almost like a stain, no fumes and dries quick too. Other paint would probably work though.
1) Cleaned with simply green - tooth brush, 20 min.
2)masked off the letters (in a big block)
3)sprayed aluminum paint,
4)removed mask and masked off all but the letter block. Sprayed black paint, all areas and letters between the two raised horizontal bars. Removed mask. Dried 15 minutes.
5)Block sanded with 120 grit, which removed paint from the raised areas of the casting exposing the letters. 1 hour, done.
Try it. Even if a little of the paint gets away from you, it cleans up easy with the usual solvents. ....Bruce
