Default POS new DME relay?

Before I replaced the DME relay it didn't have tach bounce, or spark, or fuel. I replaced it and got the tach bounce, and spark, but was only getting 6-7 volts to the fuel pump. that wasn't enough to run the fuel pump. I ran a jumper today from 30 to 87b and the pump ran like new with 12V. "it's a new pump though " I also checked the voltage at terminal 30 and it is getting 12+ volts. should I buy another new DME relay? also I was getting 12V at terminal 30 without the key in the ignition, is that normal?

thanks

Hi Levi welcome to the forum

yes you should get 12v+ at terminal 30 with ignition off.

When you switch the ignition on, the 12V+ at terminal 30 is fed through the DME relay to terminal
87b (to power your fuel pump and supplementary air valve.) and
87 (to power the injectors and the ECU )

not sure why you are getting less than 12v at the pump and injectors though ?

I did exactly the same test as you today. I am also getting low voltage to the injectors and pump. When I put a jumper wire in place of the DME relay everything started to work again and the engine coughed twice but didn't start.
I tried a replacement DME relay but no change ?

I'm going to check my ECU tomorrow and make sure all the ground connections are clean. Apparently there should be three ground wires from the ECU which earth on the inlet manifold somewhere .
