Don't care for the look -sorry. Also, don't like D-90's either - it's just taste. Go with what you like/can afford.
Fuchs don't fit late '44's or I'd go for them too.
I LOVE Fikse's but SO expensive - I'm told. Anyone know for sure?
I'll probably go with 17" Twists or 993's

You know, i did make a mock-up of those 18" new carrera wheels, and i didnt like them. The Cup 2s stick out funny in my opinion. I think i may keep my eyes open for these wheels. If i go to 17, it will probably be with these unlesse something better comes out. I just cant see myself going to twists. I did see an awesome grey 951 with 3 piece twists...looked awesome. It looked weird as **** with the blue though.

It's an aggressive looking car and I think it needs and aggressive wheel, but not to flash.
Twist look is tough to beat imho.

look too dainty for the car. im a big fan of the twists or claw/crabs. a macho car like the 944 that compensates for my other shortcomings needs a macho looking wheel ;-) check out my link.
be prepared to roll the fender if you put 255s on the rear.
try ebay. i got mine off ebay from a porsche dealer in palm beach fla. that took them off a brand new car. dont waste your time with the companies that advertise on ebay with a starting price $10 below the buy it now price.

Was is my gray 951 with the twists that you saw online?
<a href="http://www.p-caronline.com/directory/need4speed/" target="_blank">http://www.p-caronline.com/directory/need4speed/</a>
These are 17" FRH Turbo Twists on my 86 and I have not had to do any fender rolling at all with 255's on mine. These are late offset and I am running parts from an 87 and 89 M030 in my suspension now
Not too many out there with them...my car looks very, very similar to the gray one from Powerhaus or somewhere in AZ that was on Ebay recently.
Cheers!

Yeah, i like yours. I saw the one on ebay. It just seems like every one has these twists, and i just wanted to go a little different. They really dont do that much for me either. I might just stick with the D90s. Any other suggestions on a good 17" style for the S2? (i like seeing the brakes a bit more too)

Don't blame you on wanting different, Tony. I didn't see another one like mine for a while with those wheels anywhere and only a 911 Carrera Cab I found pics of had them on it. Seemed like everyone had the other turbo twists or the 911 style 5 spokes/968 wheels, both of which look very sharp. Thought I might be unique, but I know now of three (Michael Weinstien sp??) has them on a car in my color and the Powerhaus one has them as well....I've only seen one other with these wheels, but I'm sure there are more out there. The PO installed them and I like them better than phone dials or the D90s which my car had when the PO bought it, so I'm happy for the time being
I really like the mesh type wheels, Fikse's or something I think they are....look really sharp, but as someone mentioned, very $$$$. The 10 spoke wheels are too wagon wheel for me too. The only problem with some of this is that with Porsches having unique wheel patterns, there aren't super huge numbers of wheels out there that I'm aware of that will fit that could be really unique. The Supra MK3 and 4, RX-7TT, 300ZX and more all share the same sizes and so they have a multitude of wheels to swap between.
Cheers!

errr, the 10-spoke Fikse's, the FM-10's, look damn nice on 944's if you ask me <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> Definitely not "wagon wheel" looking like the Porsche Sport Classic 18" wheels.
However, they look better with certain colors. Darker colors looking best. I know when I tried my Fikse's on my silver S2, they didn't look quite as good as on my dark blue turbo. They go for close to $3k a set new, in 17x8x10. Tires extra

17" turbo twist are the best... 18" are not good as I understand for the 944.
225 in front is a good width and 255 in the rear is all good, no rub for me!! =)

The other thing...i prefer ease of cleaning. I have to do it sooo often, ide rather not always need special brushes to get between every spoke, especially if my hand doesnt fit. I dont like the race style, or multiple spoke (10+) etc... I like 5 spoke, or similar. (i think im way too picky!) Oh well! The search continues!

Not a bad choice. My favourites for the 944/951 bodystyle are the following (in ascending order of cost): ROH-ZS (hard to find), Mille Miglia Cup 1 (tirerack), RH ("P") 3.6 Turbo 3 piece replica (found at wheelenhancement and others), BBS LM (tirerack, wheelenhancement and others. BBS made for Porsche Sport Classic is also nice. If money is no concern Fikse FM-10, Champion, Gembella have nice BBS like options. The ROH and Mille Miglia Cup 1 are probably 3-5 lbs. heavier, but they look great and don't cost a fortune.

Take a look at my web page.
<a href="http://dkheger.frc.utulsa.edu:8080/~dkheger/s2/" target="_blank">web page</a>
At the bottom are some picts of my S2 with a set of 17" 996 carrera 4 wheels.
I like them.
