Angry Strange noise emitted from my "S"

Maybe some of you have had this problem, between 2K and 3k on acceleration I get a raspy rattling noise. I'm thinking it's either some loose/missing heat shield screws or something loose in my cat. Any suggestions? As always, thanks in advance.

Check the heat shielding over the catalytic converter. On my car, it had almost rusted off... and asking around, it seems to be quite usual for that piece to fail.

I just removed it with a set of huge metal scissors with no ill effects later on.

Bump, bump, anybody else have any suggestions? I will probably be crawling underneath it today to check the shield.

Had the same issue on my S. Loose brackets on the exhaust had it rattling against the underside of the car/transmission/you name it.

Yeah. I am looking into replaing the whole exhaust system. Headers, cat. test pipe, and cat-back exhaust. Probably all Bursch, since I know they will all fit together. Mine rattles all over the place between 2500 and 3000 RPM.
