Post speedometer needle removal; turbo coolant pump leak

hi all!

1) trying to wriggle free my speedometer needle to put in my new odometer gear--and it's very hard. any tips other than "be patient" and "use wire strippers to pull evenly around the base"?

2) my turbo coolant pump is leaking from what seems to be the join between the metal top part and the plastic lower part. time to a) get a new one, b) check the rear hose more carefully, or c) take it out and rebuild it? if get a new one, where's a good place that's cheap? (i remember performance prod being ~$150)

cheers!

PS (with some strong language)
just removed, cleaned my passenger side lock & latch mechanism--i thought i understood the famous porsche door "clunk", but man, now i get a hofty every time i close the door (hofty=hard softy).

Patience grasshopper, patience. The needle will come off. It does take a bit more force than expected.

The two plastic halves of the pump have a gasket in between. The gasket gets old and it leaks. I just resealed it with some goop and it has worked for a month or so. I got the idea from some other rennlist posts. Hopefully will save a few$, I think the pump is expensive.
