Can someone with manual windows explain to me what the interior crank "base" looks like on the handle? In the expanded view it just looks like a disc. I'm not sure if it is a visible trim piece or just a protective piece that goes between the crank handle and door panel? I am converting my car to manual windows and these crank bases are NLA so I am trying to figure out what they are exactly.

I don't know about the Porsche correct window crank base, but you can call a junk yard to see if they have any old VW's. The crank base guard was a plastic piece that went between the crank and door card. You need to know the diameter of the hole the crank would fit through so it would not slop around. Call up a VW Dealer Parts and ask them if they can order a crank door guard.

Yeah thats what I was planning on doing. I was hoping to get a better description of the OEM ones so I can find something close, wasn't sure if it had any raised areas or if its just a completely flat disc.
