Interesting Part find Didnt even know I had them. I was scrolling through the PET catalog and came across the headlight motor system and found that the lift mechanism uses 4 headlight bushings. Porsche Part # 477805623 ( $3 each ) since they are 22 yr old rubber pieces Im wondering if I should replace them for the sake of doing so or wait until I would need one.
Whats the purpose of these ?

I believe those are really seals between the tube inside the headlight assembly and the stationary pivot pieces. I think mine are missing! I don't remember seeing any, but I wasn't really looking, either.

I saw this YT video where it was claimed at 3:01 these bushings are supposed to push against the headlight motor linkage to keep it engaged with the two forks coming off the headlight bucket assembly. My forks are no longer engaging on the passenger side and I think it may be due to this missing bushing, just ordered from Pelican.

I am currently rebuilding my headlight assemblies and had to order a replacement as I was also missing 1 of 4. As far as I can tell, the bushings purpose is going from one diameter to another essentially. I don't think they do anything mechanically, other than just providing a smooth surface to spin in. I could be wrong though.
