So sorry I was unable to attend...Loks like you guys had fun and a good turnout depsite the weather...At 2:00 yesterday I was sitting in church watching a buddy get married...While it was a nice service, I'd've sure enjoyed meeting everyone...Perhaps another time - seems like there is enough interest to get that going regularly...B

Oh yea, I forgot to say "Yo Perry! Thanks for lunch, bud!" I wonder what I did to deserve that? Also Tifo surprised me with payment on an old debt. I made money on the deal, wow!

Micah, here’s the scoop on the early 85 so far. The lot was closed so I just poked around. It’s dark blue (just like Matt’s S). It has black center cookie cutters with Kelly 215/60/15 tires. The front tires have about 50% tread left, the backs about 40%. The interior color is brown/tan. There are 2 dash cracks about 4 inches long. The interior could use a good cleaning but it actually it looks better than most. The console lid is pretty worn out. The carpet looked ok. The roll up cover in the hatch looks like it doesn’t retract. The odometer read 29K (129K most likely). The car hasn’t moved in a week or so and there were no leaks or wet spots under it. The paint was in good shape but could use a good polish & wax. The stone guards in front of the rear tires are cracked like most are. The nose had the normal rock chips and there were 2 or 3 small parking lot dings. The only issue I could see from just looking at it is a light impact on the front passenger side. The bumper is compressed in about an inch and the lower front (where the side marker is) is bowed out slightly. The bumper shock is a very easy fix and the bowed out side marker area could be straightened out with little effort. The car also carries a warranty, but I don’t know how long or what is covered. If you want I can go back when they’re open and find out about mechanical condition and test drive it. Based on looks I’d give it a 6 out of 10. Not great but not bad. Asking price is $4995.00 but I would use the impacted front bumper as a negotiating point to get it around $3000-$3500. The car lots phone # is 937-429-4167.

Let me know if you want me to check it out further.

BTW, I vote to make this a regular event. It was lots of fun seeing Porsches driven the way they were intended.

Hi Guys,
I will speak up for the 911's being that they were all my friends I invited to stop by.
It's NOT that they pussed out on the drive.. They had already allocated the time in the afternoon to prep the cars for MID OHIO! so that was the reason they slpi.
not fear of driving on the back roads.. I myself would have driven mine with you guys out there but . well for reasons I will not go into here felt it best not to do so ..
trust me of the few 911's that showed up 3 of them are very FAST smooth drivers..who love driving the cars.. hince getting the ready for the track .. all of the guiys I know track the 911's ..
I had a great time being a co pilot for Tifo..
it was a good time out there..
Jeremy and myself in the past have had some very fast good runs out there on the back farm roads..
I will for sure make sure we.. meaning (ALL THE 911 ) guys will stick around for the drive at the next one.
PROMISE!
I went to help them after the gathering and mentioned to them that you guys were going to say things like .. you posted.. about them leaving and they said that they really did want to saty and drive but getting the cars reau for the MID OHIO track day was prioriety.
so maybe next time....
I really had a great time..
you all were a great buch of guys and Gals!
I do like to seeing people realy driving and enjoying the cars as they were meaant to be enjoyed!!
it made me happy.
maybe we will see you guys around..
if you guys like to drive that way..
and you want to run against some 911's ..
do the Taj race comming up..
I'll even sweeten the deal..
if yany of you can post a faster run time than me..
I'll cover your enty free!!!
any takers!!!!!?

let Tifo know he'll pass it on to me..
as I don't come here I hang out on the Pelican 911 BBS.
but logged on to read the post here and all.

GREAT TIME, GOOD PEOPLE... and PORSCHE CARS WHO COULD ASK FOR A BETTER DAY!!!

Later!
Eric

Sorry if I was having TOO much fun.. I'm not a normal maniac, I'm a track-trained (20+ DE's) maniac. I mean I'm comfortable driving at speed in proximity to other cars. I was worried Matt might get freaked out about me being close, so I'd back off, but we'd go thru a turn or two and there I was on his bumper again. It wouldn't be cool if he screwed up because he felt pressure from that little ole cooper. I really should have stayed back behind the pack, after all I didn't have my Pcar so I belonged with the Volvo.. But that straightaway was sooo tempting. Perry chanting "You are wussy if you don't" didn't help. (I think he just wanted a close up of a fencepost)
Also, for all of you guys who haven't tried it, do a drivers ed. It's 10x more fun than what we did, and safer too. Remember to sign up early, they fill up fast. It is by far the best $300 you will ever spend on your car!

Matt never said anything about you guys, he was just going at his own pace.

I was wondering what your guys reactions were on that straightaway and after the curve.

Dan: "Think I can make it?"
Perry: "Yeah, you can make it!"
Dan: "You sure?"
Perry: "Yeah, go for it."
Dan (after the corner): "Guess not."

I know, you could have made it with a smooth road, and not that little "ramp" right at the turn.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here, Dan - I hit the brakes on that straight away when Leslie said "here comes that little car" <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

This should be a monthly thing! Dan, the pics are awesome
