The stock 944 sliders/mounts simply unbolt from the bottom of the manual seats. They are flat on top so modification should relatively easy. Ill post a writeup in my build thread when I'm finished fitting and mounting. I guess I'm partial to the stock seats but the Sparcos are definitely more comfortable. One gripe is the adjustment handles are made of cheap plastic and one of them broke in shipment. These seats were made in China unfortunately

I guess I don't understand why you guys aren't just buying the sliders for the 944 from Sparco? Is there a height difference?

I really want to buy these seats.....a LOT! But, They defiantly can't be any higher than the stock seats, as my head is only about 1/2" from the roof now.

Luft, can you measure 1 sparco seat vs the other stock seat when they're in the car? (Are the early seats higher than late seats?)

Ill measure | headliner to seat bottom | on both setups.

I couldn't find the part # for the 944 mount as it wasn't listed on Sparco's site, I guess its possible they still sell them and just don't advertise it, or more likely I'm just a blind fool. I don't mind saving few bucks as all its going to take to adapt these is 4 plates to compensate for the extra width of the Sparcos.

Here you can see how simple the bottom of the manual seat mount/slider is. Someone could make the adapter plates "bolt-on" if they really wanted too.

Ok so here's the deal. Stock seats actually have wider mounting points so the adapters have to come in for Sparcos to mount on them. Here are the dimensions for the mounting points (center to center) :

Stock Manual Seat :
Front to Back (Length) - 10 5/16"
Side to Side (Width) - 16 1/8"

Sparco :
Front to Back (Length) - 10 5/8"
Side to Side (Width) - 13 9/16"

I'm still unclear at this point if there are going to be any clearance issues with the torque tube tunnel due to the overall width so well have to wait and find out in determining how far back they will sit.

944 seat swap

Skywalker has used these seats already, and has pics to prove how well they fit .... He posted a few times in this thread.

Thanks for posting the slider/seat dimensions!!

I know they will fit but my thinking is there may be a difference on how far back they can go w/ stock sliders versus aftermarket because the stock will probably sit lower.

luft... looking under your seat -- what simplicity !!

my electric seats to sparco conversion was much more time consuming affair compared to what you will be doing !!

just old fashioned measuring, some welding and you're done.

i suggest welding because your seats become part of your car's chasis in an accident.

always more satisfying to be able to say you gutted it out and created something new and save 250+ dollars in the process.

if you mess up then you're just buying sparco sliders, so the risk is zero.

good luck !

I welded this mounts of 5x50mm steel for the left seat.
The seat position is 35mm back of original position.
I am tall, 192cm, and I think about 20 mm is enough.
The seat is wide and I had to cut the lever bar on one side in this position, in original position it might be OK.
I used Recaro/Porsche sliders.
