Creaking from hatch/boot/trunk lid - 968
When driving the car (particularily on unsmooth roads) I am getting a lot of creaking from the rear hatch area. This only happens however after driving for about 20 mins and progressively gets worse.
Any idea of the part(s) rubbing causing the creaking. I was thinking about treating the rubbers but anywhere else I should be looking?
Thanks

If your rubber seal is old and worn your hatch won't shut as tight as before and it will rattle.Adjust your hatch lock pins so it will shut tighter and also grease them a litle bit.

To adjust them, you loosen the nut on the base of the pin, then you turn the pin by hand, and tighten the nut when you're done.
With your hatch shut, try pulling up and down on it. If you can feel too much play or jiggle room, you need to tighten the pins. Also, try putting a little wd-40 or grease into the hatch latches (in the body, where the pins go into).
You might also make sure there's nothing rattling in your side cubbies, or your spare tire well. Sometimes a loose spare tire or some object in the cubby can cause annoying rattles. Good luck!
