Angry HELP! Can't I go ONE night without some stupid holdup?

Got the trans. back in today before work, and went to bolt up the trans.-torque tube housing tonight. It was a little off, so I tried lifting it into place...the whole back of the car went up. Ok, so I try wedging a screwdriver in there and prying it up...now the transmission just pushes along with it, but the housing doesn't really move. I think the TT housing is a little under/inside the trans. housing, but no matter what I try it won't line up. Any ideas?

So I give up on that for now, and try to get my slave cylinder back in. The push rod is way too far out, to the point where the piston has come out of it's cylinder. I pushed as hard as I possibly could, to the point where my arms were shaking, but it didn't budge. At this point I'm thinking I'm going to have to take it off, put it back together and then rebleed.

So in 2 hours, I manages to get a 1 lousy hose clamp on. And I have a headache now.

Did you make sure the 2 alignment sleeves were in place before bolting the transaxle to the TT bellhousing ? All 4 bolts must be torqued down between the two before the sleeve will slide on. Also you could try loosening the mounting bracket bolts a little while trying to get the sleeve on. You should be able to push the sleeve on by hand.
Pull the little boot loose on the front of the slave cylinder so you can see how to get the piston back in it's bore. Also open the bleed valve so you aren't fighting the resistance of the fluid.

It's not to the point where I'd slide that sleeve on yet. I can't get a TT and trans. bellhousings to line up. The torque tube is about an inch below the transmission. I found a really long, narrow pry bar last night, I'm going to give it a shot after work today.

I'll also try pulling off the boot on the slave cylinder. Will this cause any fluid to leak out? Should I periodically check the reservior to make sure it didn't drop too low?

Thanks
