I am looking to go to 10 inch rims on the rear of my 87 951 and just want to check that my calculations are correct.
It presently has ET50 9inch rims so if I go to ET40 10 inch rims I figure I will get +12.5mm from extra width and +10mm from new offset on the outside and +12.5mm extra width - 10mm offset on the inside.
Ie overall change will be +22.5mm outside width and +2.5mm inside width. Is this correct ?
TIA to the wheel offset gurus.

I run 10x18, ET65 and that's the offset you really need in the rear. The 40 mm offset is from the wide body 911, and the 65 offset is from the narrow body cars.

Tom,
Thanks for the information - I was heading down the wrong track. Since I put up the initial post I did manage to find one of your posts where you explained that you are running ET65 18 inch rear wheels without fitment problems. Thanks again.
