Question 500HP vs 600HP any DIFFERENCE in feel?

If you ride in a 500HP 951, then jump into a 600HP 951, can you really tell a difference at the High HP range?? I would think those cars are so fast it really would be hard to tell. Never ridden anything like that so I have no clue.

They'd both be awesome quick and fast. If you have a 500hp car though, and you add 100hp, that's a 20% increase, which is significant. If you have a 100hp VW Golf, the relative difference would be like adding a cam and exhaust upgrade worth 20hp. Definitely noticeable.

I think it would depend on the actual HP curve, and not just a peak HP number. If the 500 and 600 HP cars are both making 400 HP at 5000k RPM, and the 600HP car only makes its extra power above that, then you would only notice it when you're up in the high RPM ranges.

Peak power isn't the be-all-end-all performance metric, a car with less peak power could have more overall useable power and torque across the whole band, and feel faster. I had a mercedes that put out the same peak # as other cars, but it felt a lot faster than some of them because it had big power across the whole RPM range, not just a big peak.

You would definitely notice it. I've been in 300, 400, 500 and 600 hp cars and there's pretty damn big boost in butt dyno performance. Go to a drag strip and watch the cars run and you can see the difference too.

After watching the muscle cars go the ricers seem as if they take years to finish the 1/4 hehe.
