Default Tie rods or ball joint?

I have a shake in my front right tire. There is some play in the wheel and the ball joint looks okay. How can I tell if its the tie rod. or should I replave both? Is Lemfoerder the OEM for the tie rod?

Check the wheel bearing, it sounds more like that.

Whether or not Lemforder is the OEM, it's a good piece. I just used one on my 84.

Also, I had a shake at 50 - 60 mph, after 4-wheel alignment and the new tie rod. Had the wheels re-balanced twice using no weights on the outer rim. It didn't go away until they used the full width of the wheel (early Fuchs) for balancing, with weights on the outer rim. It took a bunch of weight, too. Smooth ride is better than good looks in this case.

Lemfoerder is one of the OEMs for that part. It should last as long as OE. The test for a tie rod is to jack up the car, grab the tie rod, and tug on it in both directions. If the inner or outer joint is going bad, you will feel some play.
