Rt.66 has race classes that are only $100 for the weekend I belive. I'll have to check, I got a brochure at the car show.

I'm always up for a drive thru Starved Rock. Give me a little notice as I'm kinda based outta Springfield, But I get back to Ottawa every week or so (I too have to check on my Mom who still lives there in a nursing home with Dymensia and Lymphoma..)

Wayne- I'll be in Ottawa this weekend and passing thru to Chicago on Sat am.. and back to Ottawa on sunday-
Open a new thread for a meet, pick a date and lets see what happens!! There are a lot of PCA guys on Peli#@n who want to drive those twisties as well-They are planning a "ride to the rock" this saturday the 29th, as long as you dont mind "airheads"!

I would be interested in a IL get together. I am always envious of all the East/West coast get togethers. I have not been to Starved Rock yet, but I am definitely planning going this year.

Take Care all

Michelle, I wish your mom and you the best.

Update..Weather is forecast to be in the 30's. Looks as tho the Chicago PCA airheads dont have any heat (awww, should have a watercooler!) and will postpone to a warmer day. I'll create a new post when the plans finalize for that one.
ANOTHER reason I love my car- HEAT!

Lets not stop that from us gathering someday at the same location, or somewhere else for that matter!

I'm up for a Rennlist Midwest Gathering!!
<img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" />

I didnt mean to hijack this thread- I did send the url for this thread to my Son in Korea. I thought he would love Michelle's pics. Remind him of home...

Channahon is just West of Joliet Where I55 and I80 meet. Is everyone just looking to drive around or is anyone going to hike or eat while they are there?

Just how DOES one stave a rock? . . .

Will I have to get one of those "pet rock" manuals and look it up?

It was the last stand of a Native American tribe. The actual rock sticks out and over looks the Illinois River. The tribe was trapped on the rock and surrounded by US soldiers. They were essentially starved to defeat or death, hence "Starved Rock"

I'd be up for a get together some time. Just got to plan it so my car is in it's brief "non-broken" stage. <img border="0" alt="[ouch]" title="" src="graemlins/c.gif" />

If anyone is in the area this weekend, lemme know. I'll probably be out trying to finish the head gasket job on my n/a.
