David - spoke w/ my boss on this (16 year Porsche Tech), and he said the problem is likely to be a bad matching of head and camhousing.

You could get them both milled, which he doesn't recommend, as you are then introducing a change in clearance between cam lobe and valve spring base (we're currently rebuilding a 951 racecar that coil-bound the valve springs, leading to complete engine destruction), or you can make your own gasket for the camhousing, as we do in the shop, to cover the entire flat surface of the head/camhousing contact area.

He doesn't have a very high opinion of the factory graphite-ended skinny camhousing gasket...

I use loctite 574(?) AKA Porsche glue, as a thin layer on both sides of the gasket last time I installed it, and all has been fine.

Anyone ever use Curil T? I used it on the water pump gasket, and it's held up well.

Just curious how effective it would be on the cam housing gasket. Its intended use is where high internal pressure and extreme temperatures exist. I believe the stuff is quality.
