Default FS: 1984 944 E-Stock Toy

My 1984 944 is officially up for sale. After Winning E-Stock in my region I think that it is time to move on, so a ESP WRX is next for me...

I owned the car for a little more than a year. Since buying it in stock form I have added:

NEW Timing Belt/Rollers/Water Pump/Timing Cover/Hoses/Plugs
Full M030 Adjustable Suspension
K&N Cone Filter
New ZERO-MILE! Transaxle with LSD and Short #5 & Short Throw Shifter
CV Joints
New-er ('88 Turbo)Alternator
New Fuel Filter/Bosch Pump
A/C Delete
Glasspack
WeltMeister Harness Bar
Fresh street tires & Hoosier R6s on Cookie Cutters.
Sony Head Unit

So, being a dedicated Autocross toy, several things were removed. The AC and everything to go with it, including the in-dash box, has been taken out. Many things that added useless weight are gone. Recently the Ring and Pinion went, so I decided to replace the whole transaxle with a 0-Mile rebuild with a LSD and Short fifth (if you're going to do it... might as well).

The Bad:

The powersteering started to act up so I removed the belt, I have a used working PS Pump ready to go on it. Paint: It needs a paintjob. I have the paint for it, just not the time. The Belts/Headgasket job is done, but the belts need to be re-tensioned. Also, after the gasket went, I drained the oil and put new stuff in. Now, it will need another oil change just to make sure its back to normal inside. I have 6 Quarts of Valvoline VR1 and a Mahle filter waiting for it, just no time.

I'm needing $4,500 for it. I have $3,000 in the trans and suspen/tires alone.
mchmielewski@theweekender.com I am in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

Sure did. I just got done winning the NEPA-SCCA E-Stock Championship with it and it was on it's way to being a CSP car. The motor was supposed to come out and get a head job, header, tune, etc.

I now have a monster WRX as my daily driver. I don't have the heart to sell it so it's being turned into an ESP car and I'm buying a new Daily Driver. The 944 has served me well, I just want a little more power. My girlfriend Amanda is crying over this and is even thinking of buying it from me. I just need the cash to go towards a new car. The car was a blast, and everything that went on it was replaced the best way you could. I'll miss it.

I meant the tires. They look really meaty!

Looks like fun! I did something very similar with my 89 and it is a blast in E Stock. So much fun having more power than miatas. Head gasket isn't that bad...been there done that. You should probably go ahead and knock that out so you can get some more money out of it (or keep it!)

Just curious; what club did you run with?

The car ran in the scca.

The bars are close to where the 944spec guys run them.

Nobody protested that seat? Can't replace seats in stock classes. Looks like a fun car, though. 225/50/15's?

The number two car was a hooked up Miata with superwide tires on bigger-than-legal wheels. We had a "gentleman's agreement".

I still had him my at least a second.
