I don't get it. Why is that funny? If anything, it makes me mad knowing that I spent all kinds of money putting in a T04E when I could have just bought that. Plus, whenever you floor it, the X4000 delivers all of its energy to you engine for all out performance.

Seriously, I bet to get there flow rate of ~250CFM, they had one side connected to a large tank with 100PSI in it. The other side was connected to a large vaccuum tank. They turned it on, opened the valve, and presto, 250CFM.

Dave

PS that HONDA engine looks mean!!! <img src="graemlins/roflmao.gif" border="0" alt="[hiha]" />

What amount of cfm does a turbo put out? To compare it to a turbo. This look tempting.

Looks like a fuel vapour blower motor for a inboard boat motor.

Yeah, go ahead, buy one and enjoy the screaming power you get from your new POS4000 turbo.

Seriously, you need to think about this one before you buy. Do any real cars use this?

Its a scam. Its a scam. Its a scam. Its a scam. Its a scam. Its a scam. Its a scam. Its a scam.

I cant tell you any plainer than that.

It "might" provide a slight pressure gain at idle, but once the engine starts breathing, that fan can only be a hindrance to your intake. And I stress "might", as I really doubt that this thing can create any static pressure at all.

Save your money for hookers and crack, you will get more for your money.

Heh, heh... Water944T, I think they all get the humor of the initial post, except for David maybe...

Yeah, i was feeling a bit humorless at that moment.

I just hate to see fellow Rennlisters getting robbed. Or anyone for that matter. Those electric supercharges are a joke, plain and simple. Not to mention possibly harmful to your engine.

But yet, it seems every two or three days someone else pops up and says "Dudes! I found the coolest **** and now my NA can smoke Turbos!"

Whats even worse is when I see posts from guys who actually claim that it makes their car faster. (Thankfully, I havent seen one of those on this board yet)

When someone makes an electric turbocharger that flows 1000CFM of air at 15PSI of static pressure, with a power draw of less than 20A., then call me. I will be in the corner, holding my breath.

As a reference point, high-powered electric R/C jets use cobalt and rare earth motors that can make 70+oz of static thrust. At around 100Amps of current draw. These are motors that will kill a 24-cell pack of 4000Mah batteries in about a minute. Serious power suckers.

In a closed system, the static thrust drops almost off the scale, due to the fact that these fans cannot actually compress the air they are flowing. Not to mention that these things make waste heat like the sun.

Now it might be interesting to put a small R/C gas turbine engine inline with the intake. Except the noise would be murderous. In the 115db range for some of those turbines, those engines actually "Suck, Bang, Flow, and Go." But the question remains, is it worth the added weight, fuel consumption, and heat to make a few extra HP? Especially considering that 90% of drivers are the weakest link in their cars performance?

Upgrade the nut behind the wheel first, then go looking for more power.

I'm still trying to figure out how these sellers don't end up facing fraud charges.

The idea is nothing new. The most they claim is one pound of boost. Although I don't know anyone who's tried it. Note the 928 on the website.

Looks like they're shilling their own auctions too. There's 20-30 of those things listed days out and they've all got one bidder.
