I have a 93 968 coupe that has undergone a series of events making it look like a dog pile.
It has been hit by a drunk driver parked at a football game, backed into by a dubbed out hummer parked at a gas station, and finally the front bumper has been cracked by steep parking lots.
I finally after about a year have the money to get a full paint job, but was wondering what the best option would be for pannel replacement.
A stock 968 front bumper (GFRP) is about $1200, but a gt racing (fiberglass Resin) bumper is only $600. A no brainer for that one as fiberglass is stiffer than the plastic and would be a fairly easy replacement. (plus I could have the 968 turbo rs duct look incorporated better than if I used gfrp) Any thoughts on installation costs for the Gt bumper?
The main question for this post is, how much modification and fitting goes into the gt racing quarter panels? I know they will have to be blended and the old quarters cut out. But how much bracing is required to make the fiberglass close to the stiffness of the steel? I'm worried about people leaning up against the car and causing the fiberglass to crack.

I have the Fiberwerks front and rear bumpers molded to the body. The rear was really easy, but the front is a huge PIA. Lots of fab work (brackets to keep it in place) to make it line up and be solid.
