Post 911TT is somewhat faster than my 951

I was driving on a "warm" day here in Flint, MI up I-75 and a 911TT came by me at a moderate speed. Wanting to see it take off I followed the guy for a little while and apparently that was enough to make him pull away from me. I must say it is poetry in motion to see a 911TT squat down and go, and those rear tires! MMM

I pulled on a 1997 911 Twin in my Golf GTI back at a drivers school a few years ago. It did happen to be running in limp mode after throwing a rod, but still I pulled him....

My goal is to the the 951 up there so it can run with a 911 twin at the track, lofty goal, but it can be done.

Last time I saw a 996TT I got that look. You know the look I'm talking about... It's the same look and head shake we give to ricers.

Needless to say, I slumped back in my seat and slowly accelerated to my speed.

From what I heard from a guy with a 951 that he can adjust from 400-600 hp that he has real trouble keeping up with a bone stock 911TT on the track. The powerband in those cars is just so smooth since it takes literally no time for them to build boost. They just GO!

Since my dad has a '96 993TT I can attest to how valid that is. I'm sure its possible to get a 951 to be able to run with those, but they are the definition of supercar to the letter. Good luck!

A buddy of mine with a 996TT running around 600hp swears its the best car ever made, and I hate to admit he's right, but it sure is nice. I won't race him for pick slips...

what cars can handle over 850 hp? the 911TT? yeah I'm not planning on running down a modded one, just a normal bone stock, run of the mill 911TT....

Really it is an obsession with running down a viper, but it is going to be more about the driver than anything else....

Did he have dealer or manufacturer tags? Why else would he be that close to the Arctic Circle?
