Question Onion skin seal
I just removed my camshaft seal after three years and noticed that the onion skin seal was shriveled down to just a thick circular thread. Are they designed to do that or should they stay flat like when you put them on new?

All of the old seals I've seen have remained flat.

+1 - I did mine a couple years ago. I assume it was factory, as not much else had been done on the car before I got it. It was flat.

Mine was like the OP's. Small circular ring with little material left.
