Post Blew the doors off a Boxster in my 951 and I'm loving it

Yeah, just cruising through the city and this fellow in a straight Boxster with ground effects tried to push me at a light. Well, I've got 247 HP pal, and it showed. He was hauling out of the lights while they were still red after the first time I beat him. Girlfriend looked kind of surprised, too. I mean you've gotta look a little harder on my cab to see the "turbo" script... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Nice. Typical Boxster nerd. He is probably thinking about trading in his Boxster for a Lexus GTR S X or whatever the hell they call them this week because his boss has one.

That's amusing. I wonder what % of boxster owners are blissfully ignorant that lots of porsches before theirs are faster by a significant ammount.

Not that I really want to promote this sort of behavior but it serves the guy right. Some one “Like You did needs to essplane to da dude dat jus cuz he paid as much as 5 X on his ride doesn’t make him any better. You should have taken him up onto the Expressway and handed him his gear box as well. Fringing yuppie! As an after thought you could have winked at his GF at the next light, she might have switched cars . LMAO.

Yes I am in a BS mood today!

Nice job.

Not a very hard thing to do in a 951. I owned a Boxster then bought a 951. I now own a 951. No comparison in power, even in stock form.

However, I will add, the Boxster is a GREAT ROADSTER. An entirely different animal than a 951. I agree that the owner of the Boxster you humiliated either didn't know what he owned, or didn't know what you were driving.

Most well modified 951's will also crush the Boxster S! Get that 245hp number up above 300hp and you can also lunch on Boxster S'!

I've lunched on a boxster S with my fairly stock 951 (with S modifications).

Tiptronic?

well, according to the porsche site, a BoxsterS does 0-62 in 5.7 seconds, and we all know that famous comercial says that the turbo does 0-60 in 5.6, so that's pretty darn close in stock trim.

Nice kill!

It also happened to me against both a Boxster and a Boxster S.

Even if the 201 hp is supposed to be almost as fast as a stock 951 (14.5-14.6 quarter mile times), it doesn't seem to pull as good as it should. I felt pretty sorry for him.

Concerning the Boxster S, it occured on a 30 mph rolling start and once the turbo spooled I started to gain pretty much ground on him. I pulled about 1 carlenght on him on a 30-50 mph acceleration and as soon as I got side by side with him, he braked hard and he didn't even look at me.

Unfortunately, all the Boxster owners that I met looked more cocky than with any other car.

It's weird, the only people that ever want to play with me like that are superbikes. Sure is fun to eat those!

This happened to me too a couple of years ago.

I was at Fry's Electronics and walking towards my car. As I walked through the parking lot I passed a guy who was just getting into his Boxter. I nodded at him and I said "Beautiful car". He didn't aknowledge me. Instead, when he pulled out of his parking stall he floored it as he passed by me. Well as I left the parking lot and headed to the Freeway, There he was at the light going the same direction I was headed to. I was directly behind him. we were headed on 101 N from Lawrence. As we cleared the Onramp we both took off and went to the extreme left lane. I followed him and as I shifted to 4th, it was bye bye Boxster. I pulled about three car lenght on him and then waited for him. He gently pulled to the right lane and wouldn't even come close to me for another launch.....I don't think most 'Boxster' owners really know much about other Porsche's and their capabilities.

These cars are somewhat tired today. Where as the boxter S is brand new easily doing its 0-60 5.7.
