Ok, now I'm curious since I've never had one. Is it just a plug or it is some kind of one way drain?

Yeah, I bet drain 'nipple' would've gotten a whole lot more responses!

It is just a rubber plug. I occasionally pull against mine when I'm under the rear and pop it out, but for the most part mine stays in place. I still have it!

I didn't have one, but just put a drain plug from the front well of a 993 in. It fit perfect and it was rolling around in my spare parts bin. Quite possibly the same part number.

Yes that is a mystery why one car has it and the other does not.

My Red 944 bought a year a half ago does not and the Black 944 original owner of does.

Its one of those parts that just gets lost over time. You can rub it and knock it out when you're moving in and out from under the car.
