Never see any lights like that, worked for a dealer for 2.5 years. I'm putting in a vote for a radar det.

I bet radar. I have a similar set in my 968. Its a K-40 (which is awful). The control device on mine is under the dash on the drivers side. You should have 2 *****. One for volume, the other for city/highway.

"Ya gotta wonder why some people had such a vendetta against Audi."

Buddy who bought a brand new A4 3.0 this summer really has a vendetta against them.

It's been in the shop 22% of the time he's owned it. Once to put in a brand new transmission after 3500 miles, 3 times for coil packs, two of those times were longer than the transmission, + a few other times for minor stuff.

The old unintended acceleration bit was Bull crap though.

I think that the car in Knight Rider had those... are they for the french-fry timer?

I recognize the parts-- they are part of an alarm system. The LEDs are self-explanatory... perhaps the previous owner thought two were better than one. The thing in the middle is a glass breakage sensor, essentially a tiny microphone. I gotta say, there are more attractive ways of mounting these components.

It really does look like the K-40 built in radar detector system. Look behind the bumpers and or front grill for the detectors. They would look like a black plastic box. Otherwise it has to be the ejector seat and oil dispursion system.
