Post C.C.'s to P. Dial's.. Lugs & Center Caps??

I finally got a set of Phone Dials to replace the Cookie Cutter rims that came on the car.

I have a couple of questions. (1984 944 n/a)

1. Will the center caps from the cookie cutters fit on the phone dials. I know there are several kind of caps.

2. Do they both use the same lug nuts. When I got the car, the lugs were kinda like regular nuts. In that, the wheel stud comes all of the way through the nut. I replaced them with a set of what I call "acorn" or "dress" lug nuts. These are closed on the end and you can not see the wheel stud. (Hope that makes sense)

Obviously both the caps and lug nuts are the wrong color for the phone dials right now, but I can repaint both to match the PD's.

On a side note, I will be selling my Cookie Cutters with or without Toyo Proxy tires in the near future. If your interested email me.

Thanks for your help.

Thank you for the quick answers.

Haven't joined PCA, joined Rennlist instead. Most of The PCA stuff is on weekends and I fly weekends. But there are tons of P cars running around Houston.

James-

One thing you might want to check on those lug nuts you bought if they were not factory parts. The seat for the nut on the factory wheels is spherical. Make sure the lugs are the same.

Cheers,

James & others

Help me out here. Did they make any other phone dial wheels in an early offset other than the '86 turbo 16" wheels?

If not, wont James have an offset issue w/out spacers?

matt- the only phone dials in early offset that i am aware of are the 16x7/16x8 turbo rims and the 15x7 n/a rims. i think i've seen a few 15x8 rims as optional, but they are rare.

all of these have the same 23mm offset.

The "nuts" with the holes are likely steel open ended nuts. They are required in some DE events. They are also used when you have spacers with longer studs on early offset cars and want to switch between late offset wheels (using regular nuts) for street use and early offset wheels (using open ended nuts) for autocross or DE events.

Well,,,,I got these bad boys home today,,,and it looks like they're the wrong offset. They had to be deflated to ship in the cargo hold, and i asked the seller to remove the valve cores. He whacked off the valve stems with a razor knife. So, they aint got no air, but just slipping them on in the garage, it looks like they will rub on the coil springs. Don't really want to deal with spacers and such. Probably end up trying to sell them. What a waste of a day, a total PITA......

James: What size are the wheels? How much do you want for them?
