we worked all night tonight

we have the engine ready to pull just a couple of bolts left on torque tube - yep you guessed it the top two lol

we want to say thanks to Ben Waite in Mass for the door panels and cool pics

we need a set up rings for zachs car
upper and lower gasket kits
clutch kit
set of axles

set of tail lights
if we can raise $1000 we can have him running

i know an afm and throttle body is coming withn a jboot
we are moving hard and fast

thanks for the donations
they are coming in and we are using them

well guys we pulled the engine tonight

what fun whoooohoooo

what a dirty job tonight - my wife and daughter cracked up when i walked in the house

Zach is excited - truly

we are taking some of the donated funds to buy him a new engine stand at Harbour freight ($50)

we are also buying a Blast Cabinet to remove the pounds of rust on every part

then we start breaking the engine down and start stripping the Tub for a complete bottoms up redo

this car is going to be as fine as yalls someday and he is soooo pumped

The chicago region is going to send out an email to their members seeking support for us.

THANK YOU CHICAGO

one of my DE guys showed up and fellow board member and RLister Joost Perquin - in his suit and he helped me pull that engine

amazing these boys are getting taught how we car guys stick together

Thanks everyone

we definately need the calipers
They are frozen in rust on the rotors
I just removed the assemblies last night

Zach is trying to get online - he shares the one computer on a dialup at his house with his brother and mom.

Between his school works and late nights with me in the shop he may just not have time to link in but last night we talked about it and he understands the importance of sooner or later taking over the post!!

Spur him on fellas

Hey, This is Zach. Just wanted to update you on the progress we are making. My engine is on the ground and it needs a LOT of work. I would greatly appreciate any parts, donations, or advice in order to continue this project. I will try to keep you updated.

Tuesday Night update

well we have thoroughly broken down Zach's NA engine totally bare
All looks good - just a ton of varnish and coating we will start cleaning with Laquer Thinner - unless yall have a better idea (just trying to avoid the costt of a machine shop)

We have the 951 on an engine stand and this sunday we break it down.
There was enough metal shavings in the oil to let me know that we may not be able to avoid the machine shop totally

Our LSR PCA President came by with a Pizza and a Cabinet for the shop. She is a super cool lady.

We are moving from Tuesday nights to Sunday afternoons.
kids are struggling with school work on weeknights

guys you have seen my posts
We need to start buying gaskets rings clutch rotors and pads plugs distributor etc etc

We are thankful for the parts coming in

I hope that through here and through the chicago and houston clubs we can raise 2-3k to get these tubs rolling again

If you cant donate to these kids - can you plug us into your club?
Brian's article is hopefully going to help alot
Can you guys forward this support article to your region's newsletter editor and your president

its been a while since the kids have posted
we continue to move along
no donations or parts in a month but we continue to plod forward.

we can really use some help and I know many of you have already thank you.

I do want to give you a personal update.
Zachs dad past away this weekend. Though he left the family 10 years ago - it is still tough news for him

He recently was able to go see him at the hospital not having seen him since the night he left them. I am glad he was able to get some closure if that is even possible.

A new year is coming and we MUST finish his car.

Merry Christmas friends
