Default Heater control valve to cyl. head hose keeps on leaking

This is the 2nd hose that sprung a leak. Makes a nice flow of coolant go right over the clutch/flywheel

Is it not a coincidence that the 2 vac fittings broke off on the cyl. head elbow and 2 new hoses spring a leak right there? Does the valve default to a closed position ,causing an obstruction? It does not leak right away, it took about 20 minutes/driving it each time.

Any ideas and anyone have a new vac. fitting for that elbow FS?

Not sure what you are asking but I would check for excessive engine movement or something that is stressing those hoses.

D'oh didn't think of that. Only thing is that there is a good amount of "slack" in the HCV hoses and this car has good motor mounts..

Basically what I'm asking is if the 2 vacuum fittiings on the 90* elbow at the back of the cylinder head are broken off, what effect would that have on the 90* elbow. (Is there a valve in there that controls coolant?

The first (6 month old) hose tore right behind the hose clamp(cylinder head side) The first time I thought I may have overtightened clamp.. unlikely but it happens. I replaced it with a new hose and the same thing happened in about 15-20 minutes. I know this is crazy , but I thought maybe if the coolant can't flow past there there is a buildup of pressure there?

I'm just a bit miffed as this is the 2nd hose in about 30 minutes of run time, (+ it dumps coolant on the clutch, ground, and ground!) now I'm out of spares! At least its an easy one to get to...But before I put it back together I wanted to get some input before replacing the hose again.
