This has got to be the weirdest thing I've seen this week!

OK, I play a sitar and drive a porsche. Been playing sitar on and off since 1970. Been a Raviji fan since the mid-sixties (thanks, George). Also a big fan of Pandits Nikhil Banerjee (rip) and Manilal Nag. If anybody is still following this, my teacher is Sri Indjajit Banerjee, who's teacher is Pandit Kartik Kumar, who is himself a senior disciple of Ravi Shankar. On the other side of the coin, I bought my first porsche this January from a friend. And you bet I play ragas on the stereo going down the road! Get funny looks from people, but that's OK. I'm in a different space anyway. Don't know about any other connection, but there's one from my point of view.

Ravi's album cover sketch of an Indian musical instrument (I can't recall the name of it, something like a banjo but more oblong) inspired a Porsche designer who was working on the 924 in the 70s.

There was a story in the New Yorker about it 10 years ago. I'll see if I can dig it up and post it.

Ya know, on cincy street racing, we had a guy that went by the name of Crackhead. This guy would post a weird site of the day, every day. He posted like 50 times a day, he lived on the computer!
