Mystery Exhaust Sensor
I am trying to find any information in regards to the sensor that was inserted into the catalytic converter of my 90, S2. I can't seem to find any information on it. My assumption is that the purpose of it is to tell the DME that a certain temperature has been reached by means of resistance change. If anyone could lead me to more information, or better yet the ohmic value I may be looking for.
Thanks.
Ill post a picture shortly.

Its not that im looking to replace it... im looking to short it out with a resistance at the connection point just on top of the brake booster. I deleted my cat the other day and want this to go with it... i guess i may just cut and weld a nipple into the str8 pipe.
Thanks for the P.N. though. .... anyone else with an answer for its function? data?

I would guess it's a thermocouple that senses impending converter burn-out due to stuck injectors or other over-rich condition. But it's just a guess. Have you got a pic of it, or is it permanently stuck in the cat?
