Arrow How to adjust rear Koni Yellows?

My rear Koni Yellows arrived in the mail today! <img border="0" alt="[jumper]" title="" src="graemlins/jumper.gif" />

I've been admiring their beauty and need to know how to adjust these babies. I can see that they twist at the bottom and I think I can feel a difference but how do I know what stiffness they are at? Somebody lay it down for me. Thanks!

Here are the ones I got: <a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2406087638&category=33590" target="_blank">Link</a>
I don't think they are the externally adjustable ones.

<img border="0" alt="[jumper]" title="" src="graemlins/jumper.gif" /> I cannot WAIT to put all four on now! <img border="0" alt="[jumper]" title="" src="graemlins/jumper.gif" />

In my opinion they're kind of a pain. First, you ahave to remove those spongy whitish stoppers that are jammed up in there. You can use a small screwdriver through the two holes at the top to push it down. Once its removed, compress the shock all the way, hold the base from moving and rotate the top part. It has a max of around 2 1/2 turns if I remember. You should be able to tell if you are making it stiffer by how quickly it rebounds. The slower it goes back to full length, the stiffer the ride.

Can't you just pull the twist mech out from the bottom?? Compressing is the old style is it not?

I have the yellow Koni's and just adjusted them last week. The procedure Mike S detailed is how you adjust them. I found it useful to clamp the shock (used a workmate bench) since you have to push down hard to keep the adjustment mechanism engaged. You can tell it's engaged because it will stop after the 2.5 (or so) turns. CW is firm, CCW is soft.

FWIW, mine were set full hard. This made the car somewhat unpleasant to drive below 60 mph. The back end would rebound differently than the front (original black Boge's) and it bounced like a riced-out Honda when driving through town. I pulled them off, set them to the middle of the range and now the front and rear rebound more or less together. The ride is much improved and if I've lost anything in the handling, it's way beyhond my skill level to notice it.

I agree, they are a pain. I pretty much don't mess with mine, although I don't autoX or anything like that with it either.
