Post Paint my '84 944

I want to paint my '84 944. Can anyone give me a descent price and what paint does everyone recommend. Is it something I could do myself (with help of course), I have an air compressor and sprayers and a place to paint it. I have terrible oxidation on the roof, hood, and rear quarter panels, as well as other spots that need touching up. Any suggestions???

She looks great. I'd save your efforts and try some other ways to rid the oxidation problem.

I can get it to look pretty nice if I hit it with a good cleaner wax, but there are still some orange spots on the roof and hood and whatnot. I'm afraid to keep using this wax and strip off all my paint. Any ideas?

I'm in the process of spending something in the neighborhood of $2500 to have my '86 944 repainted (also included in the cost is repair of a cracked front valence). I'm expecting to get the car back by the middle of the upcoming week, so we'll see what happened at that point. The last time I saw the car the lights, bumper pads, and various trim had been removed, and a lot of sanding had been done. I'm not sure if they ended up removing the door handles or not. As of Thursday I was told the car had been painted and was in the process of finish sanding, which would be followed by application of the clearcoat. They were using a DuPont base/clearcoat paint system.

Hopefully next week I can talk about the results and post some pictures.
