Ihave just imported a 92 Coupe Tiptronic 75kms into New Zealand. The compilance process to enable the car to be registered has failed the car for "excessive play in both front struts". They are hack mechanics as you can imagine and I have been told they fail almost every VW Golf on this irrespective of condition or mileage. I suspect strongly that there is nothing wrong on the 968.
The 968 is in superb condition and looks to have been fastiduously maintained but service records have gone missing.
Does anyone know what the factory tolerances are or where I can find them to provide evidence and have the car rechecked.
Help...I can't wait to get in it.
